OUR MISSION:

 

 

VGU-CON is more than just a great convention to come get a glimpse of the newest games and technology in the video game industry.  We are about enhancing the lives of gamers by showing them the limitless possibilities that can be accomplished through gaming. Our panels and workshops give our attendees a broader view of how a love for gaming can benefit them; we want to prepare our attendees for a future in video game development or other STEM based career fields that are in high demand. VGU is also committed to just being a fun place where gamers can let loose and have fun!

VGU-CON is also very devoted to giving back to the community. Every year we look to partner with a non-profit, charity organizations in which we can donate $1 from every ticket sold. We hope to pay-it-forward with the help of these community organizations that are dedicated to educating and inspiring young children that love video games. In the past we’ve been fortunate enough to partner organizations like the National Capital Area Boy Scouts, the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Clubs, and AbleGamers (www.ablegamers.com). VGU-Con has also looked outside the gaming industry to shine a light on issues happening around the world. In 2014 we partnered with UNICEF to bring awareness to issues taking place in South Sudan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN6Wc-9r3l4)
